Wiley, a native of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada, went on to graduate from Lake Superior State University. Wiley would transition into counseling after retiring.

He was the protracted coach of the Des Moines Buccaneers of the United States Hockey League before making his pro debut in 1993 as the head trainer of the Kansas City Blades, the San Jose Sharks’ top associate. Wiley’s national hockey league career lasted nearly a quarter. From 1972 to 1970, he played at a high level for seven years, which include 63 plays in the NHL. His funeral arrangements are unknown and we have no information on any gathering on this sad occasion.
