Who was Dwight Smith?
Dwight played for eight years along with the Big Leagues and he started off with Chicago Cubs. He also joined the Angels and Baltimore for years and then he eventually joined the Braves. He played for his two final seasons along with the Braves. Dwight appeared as a Pinch-hitter three times while Atlanta was facing off with Cleveland in Six Games in the world series. Speaking about the demise the teammates added that Dwight was a loved member of the team and he was an alumni member. They also added that his smile of Dwight will be missed around Truist Park. The teammates called Dwight an integrated member of their first championship team.

The Braves announced on Friday that Dwight died due to the failure of his congestive heart and Lung as well. Dwight was a family man whose son would spend time in Majors and most of the time with Baltimore. Dwight was a pinch hitter as mentioned by the team and sources as well, and he hit three homers and 21 RBIs in a total of 103 games. He served as a pinch hitter while he was teamed up with the Braves back in 1995. To end his career, lastly, Dwight played with the Braves themselves. In total, he batted .203 in 103 games with three homers and 16 RBIs. After Atlanta reached the world series, Dwight did not appear in any of the matches. It was postseason after Atlanta reached the World series after them losing to New York’s Yankees.

The Cubs as well released a statement regarding the demise of Dwight and said that they are really saddened to know the death of Dwight Smith and they also sent condolences to his family. Dwight played for five seasons with The Cubs and after that, he signed a free agent contract with The angels in 1994. After getting traded to Baltimore, he moved to The Braves in 1995. At that time strike-shortened season was ongoing. Speaking about Dwight’s family, he was survived by his wife Cheryl and son Dwight Jr. He also had two daughters namely, Shannyn and Taylor. Until now the family members have not spoken about the demise, and there is no update from their side.
